SPECIALTIES
Whip shading is a form of shading done with just a liner. You whip the needle to build texture and stippling, and it lands completely different than shading done with a mag. It's a pressure technique. All black ink.
Florals are the work I enjoy most, whether it's whip shading or full color. I pull bolder exterior lines and keep the interior detail finer, so the piece has contrast built into it instead of sitting flat on the skin.
Color blended like it came off a brush, edges left soft on purpose. I keep the palette tight and pack the color deep, so the piece stays vivid long after it settles.
Light hand. Fine line has nowhere to hide, so every line shows. The key is using the right size needle for the work. A quiet piece is exactly what it should be. If it's meant to whisper, it isn't going to shout.

Most of the florals I do are personal. Birth month flowers for someone's kids, a family piece, somebody's favorite flower. Sometimes it's for them, most of the time it's for the people they love.
I pack the color in well and put contrasting colors against each other so the piece pops.
